For those who prefer to use cryptocurrency, we accept all major cryptocurrencies. This option is especially useful for international supporters where bank transfers might be more challenging.
All cryptocurrency donations will be recorded and made visible on our website for transparency (see details here). Donations will be converted to GBP using Coinbase and then transferred to John’s charity bank account.
Below are our wallet addresses for various cryptocurrencies:
Bitcoin (BTC):
Ethereum (ETH):
Litecoin (LTC):
Cardano (ADA):
Solana (SOL):
If you wish to donate using any other cryptocurrency, please contact us, and we will add a payment address for that crypto.
IMPORTANT NOTE RE CRYPTOCURRENCY DONATIONS
We appreciate your generosity and welcome cryptocurrency donations of any size. However, for donations larger than £100, we kindly ask that you contact us first. This helps us manage the donations effectively and ensures compliance with tax regulations.
Why Contact Us First?
Tax Compliance: Larger cryptocurrency donations could trigger a Capital Gains Tax (CGT) liability if the value increases significantly before we have had time to convert it to fiat (GBPs).
Administrative Burden: Managing and reporting CGT can be complex and time-consuming, particularly for small fundraising teams.
Important Note: We are not a registered charity and could potentially be liable for CGT on any gains realized from cryptocurrency donations. However, if large crypto donations are converted to fiat immediately, or within a short timeframe, this would minimize any potential CGT liability.
Our Commitment
We appreciate every donation, regardless of size, and want to maximize the impact of your contributions. By contacting us for larger cryptocurrency donations, we ensure that all funds are used effectively and without the risk of incurring additional tax burdens.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
